KAMPALA– City Hall grade one Magistrate His Worship Nicholas Asiu, has charged and remanded to Luzira ASP Clive Ninsiima Barigye accused of assaulting Atuhumuriize Pellan, a Supermarket attendant at Shell Kyanja in Kampala district.

Nsiima who was produced before court in the afternoon hours, was charged with assault occasioning to bodily harm, as well as malicious damage to Property.
During his plea taking, Barigye denied all the two counts which were read to him and later on through his lawyer Hamza Kyamanywa, applied to be released on bail pending the hearing of this matter.
He presented three sureties who included: Mr. Mark Igumira of Kyaliwajala, and Ms. Cynthia Nkwanzi of Nakawa
The State Prosecutor in this matter, noted that there was no problem with the identification documents, however objected to the bail application on grounds that investigations in the matter are still underway.
The Magistrate adjourned the matter to 16th October for ruling on bail as the accused person was also remanded to Luzira Prison.
Prosecution led by Mercy Yamugasho, contends that ASP Nsiima Clive Barigye on 7th October 2025, at Shell Petrol Station Kyanja in Kampala district willfully and unlawfully assaulted Atuhumuriize Pellan
It is further alleged, that Barigye on the same date at Shell Petrol Station in Kyanja damaged infinix Hot 10 Mobile phone belonging to Atuhumuriize Pellan.
