The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has challenged His Subjects to strengthen the spirit of responsibility in order to achieve development in the country.

This was contained in a message delivered by the Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga, at Musaale Busukuma Sub-County Headquarters during the celebration of Local Government and Community Service Day in the Kingdom.

The event was held under the theme: “Let’s strengthen community service and local leadership while embracing technology among the youth to elevate Buganda to greater heights.”

The Kabaka encouraged young people to embrace proper use of technology in their daily work.

In his message, the Katikkiro urged the Ministry of Local Government to strengthen the Kabaka’s services at the grassroots level to build a firm foundation for Buganda.

Katikkiro reaffirmed that Buganda continues to advocate for a federal system of governance.

Owek. Hajat Mariam Naseejje Mayanja Nkalubo, who was the guest of honor, challenged Kabaka’s subjects to promote community service practices, especially in maintaining roads.

Owek. Joseph Kawuki called upon Kabaka’s chiefs to serve diligently while following the established guidelines to ensure quality service delivery in Buganda.

Kyadondo County emerged the overall winner in the competitions held at the county level, walking away with 5 million shillings.

Singo County took 3 million shillings, while Buwekula came third with 2 million shillings.

At the sub-county level, Mutuba 3 Makindye-Kibuga Sub-county received 1.5 million shillings.

Kago Haji Ahmedi Magandaazi Matovu thanked the chiefs of Kyadondo County for their tireless efforts that led to the county’s victory in this year’s competitions.
