Nateete– National Unity Platform’s Presidential Candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu was among the candidates who were nominated on the last day by Electoral Commission Chairperson Dr. Simon Byabakama.
He started off his journey from National Unity Platform headquarters in Makerere Kavule with a brief to all his team and a prayer by Engineer Ronald Balimwezo Nsubuga.
On setting off around mid-day, he was accompanied by a large group of some of his supporters, some walking on foot, others on boda Boda , well as others in their private transport means.
He used the Northern by pass, but as he reached Busega all those who were escorting him on foot and those on motorbike were intercepted by Police working with other sister security agencies.
Kyagulanyi remained with about five vehicles, whom he proceeded with to Lubowa, Kajjansi via Entebbe Express Highway.
The vehicles were later reduced in number to about three with only accredited individuals including Barbie Kyagulanyi (wife to Bobi wine) were allowed to access the nomination grounds.
From Nomination, Kyagulanyi returned to Nateete, Rubaga Division, Kampala district to Kaala Play ground for his Post Nomination Rally which attracted a massive crowd which welcomed him to the race.
