KAMPALA– On Tuesday, the Administration of Justice Programme held its inaugural joint TWG meeting under the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV: FY 2025/26-2029/30) at the Supreme Court Conference Hall, Kampala.
The meeting was chaired by HW John Paul Edoku, Registrar, Research, Planning and Development, on behalf of the Under Secretary.
In his opening remarks, HW John Paul Edoku welcomed the participants and appreciated them for their dedication to advancing justice in Uganda; applauding them for the unwavering commitment and contributions during the implementation of NDP III, which
concluded in the Financial Year 2024/25.
The meeting discussed the operational framework for the Technical Working Groups under NDP IV as per the guidelines issued by the Office of the Prime Minister.
These guidelines aim to enhance coordination and implementation through robust governance structures.
The Technical Working Groups will be aligned to the thematic areas of Criminal Justice; Civil Justice; Legal Education Research, and Training; as well as Institutional Coordination.
The meeting also reviewed and discussed project profiles for the Administration of Justice Programme and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to ensure clarity and strategic alignment with the Programme goal and objectives.
These will be presented to the Programme Working Group for review and approval.
In order to enhance visibility of the Programme, the meeting agreed on the Programme branding (logo).
Notably in attendance were; HW Agnes Alum(Registrar Magistrates Affairs and Data Management), Mr. Simon Peter Opolot (Commissioner Policy and Planning), Mr. Samuel Mugisa(Ag. Registrar, Judicial Service Commission), Representatives of Administration of Justice Institutions, Development Partners, Academia, Civil Society Organisations, as well as members of the Programme Secretariat
