Kawempe Chief Magistrates Court located in Kanyanya, on Tuesday charged and remanded to Luzira Prison, Doreen Kaija, the head of National Unity Platform (NUP) School of Leadership.

Doreen was charged with multiple charges, including unlawful drilling, conspiracy to commit a felony, and operating a private school that has remained unregistered since 2020.
Kaija has been in detention since Sunday, following the brutal arrest of security operatives from her home in Mbuya Kinawataka, Nakawa Division, Kampala District.
Doreen pleaded not guilty to the charges against her, since the Prosecutor informed Court that investigations in the matter are still underway, Court remanded Doreen to Luzira until 29th September 2025
It is alleged by the Prosecution that, while at NUP offices at Makerere-Kavule, Wandegeya in Kawempe Division in the Kampala District, not being persons serving in the armed forces of Uganda or in a Police Force in Uganda, or in any Naval, Military, Air or Police Force or Constabulary of any other Common Wealth Country, without permission of the Minister, wore a uniform or dress having the appearance of bearing of regimental or distinctive uniform marks of Uganda’s Security Forces.
It is also alleged that Doreen Kaija and others, still at large between 2020 or thereabout, to date, established or maintained a school which is not classified and/or registered in accordance with the law.
It is further alleged that Eddie Ssebuufu aka Eddie Mutwe, Achileo Kivumbi, Tasi Calvin aka Bobi Giant, Sserunkuma Edwin aka Eddie Kabejja , Lukenge Sharif, Nyanzi Yasin , Kaweesa Tonny , Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, Saudah Madaada alias AIGP Madada, Kaija Doreen and others still at large, on 12th day of February 2025 at National Unity Platform offices at Makerere-Kavule, Wandegeya, Kawempe Division in Kampala District, conspired to commit a felony to wit unlawful drilling.
