KAWEMPE– Hon Latif Ssebagala sengemdo has finally been nominated by the Electoral Commission as the independent candidate contesting for the position of Kawempe Mayor in the forthcoming general elections.
On addressing the media immediately after being nominated, Latif revealed that he will support National Unity Platform ( NUP) Principal on the Position of President in the forthcoming general elections
However, on the other candidates, he stated that he will be selective by supporting only those with strong back from the people
” We have gone back to the roots of people power movement by supporting only those that have got majority people back up.”
In the recent Party selection exercise, NUP gave out the Kawempe Mayoral seat to Emmanuel Sserunjogi, thereby ignoring Hajji Latif Ssebagala who was the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North for 20 years
