The police is still investigating the case where Former police special operations commander Nixon Agasirwe and former police flying squad operative Abdulnoor Ssemujju alias Minana are accused of participating in the murder of former Assistant DPP Joan Kagezi Namazzi.

The duo appeared before the Nakawa court grade one magistrate Daphine Ayebare where the state attorney Richard Birivumbuka revealed that inquiries are in advanced stage, and hence asked for more time to finalize.
The magistrate further remanded the two to Luzira prisons until 24th of this month for mention of the case.
Agasirwe and Minana were arrested in May after one Daniel Kisekka told court that the deal to murder Kagezi was financed by one Nixon Agasirwe.
Kisekka was also in May 2025 sentenced to 35 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to having participated in the murder of Kagezi who was shot dead on the 30th March 2015 in Kiwatule a city suburb.
The three other suspects who are also still on remand are; Kibuuka John, Nasur Abdullah Mugonole and John Masajjage.
