Nakawa– Hon. Michael Kabaziguruka one of the Members of Parliament who didn’t enjoy their term in Parliament by spending most of the time in Court and Prison facing on political charges, has expressed interest to contest again for Nakawa East Parliamentary seat.
The soft spoken, but strong minded Kabaziguruka contested in the 2021, general elections on the same seat but he didn’t win following the birth of National Unity Platform (NUP) wave where people especially in Kampala where yearning for change.
Kabaziguruka, didn’t give up as he remained on the ground engaging in several development and community activities.
Early this year, in ….. Supreme Court delivered a land mark Judgement in Kabaziguruka’s case against the Attorney General, where it outlawed the trial of civilians in Army Courts and later provided a list of amendments which needed to be made in the UPDF Act
This seem to have brought back Kabaziguruka who was formerly a member of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) , but later Joinned PFF which nominated him to hold their flag on the above position.
This means that, there is going bro be a tag of war especially between National Unity Platform’s Waiswa Mufumbiro and Kabaziguruka
By the time Kabaziguruka represented Nakawa in Parliament, it was one Constituency which was later divided into Nakawa East currently represented by Hon. Nsubuga Balimwezo and West represented by Joel Ssenyonyi.
