NAMBOOLE – Senegal Football Team commonly known as the Lions of Teranga secured the third position in 2025 , Total Energy CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) PAMOJA 2025.
Their win followed the defeat against Sudan in a match which ended with penalty kicks at 4-2.
Before the penalty kicks,the match ended in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, with goals scored by: Sudan Mohamed Tia Asad in the 6th minute and Senegalese goal was scored by Seyni Ndiaye in the 58th minute.
The penalty session followed after the two teams had a draw of 1:1 in the normal match play which meant that the winner had to be decided by going into penalties.
This match was watch in fully packed match at Mandela National Stadium, the government of Uganda through the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) having purchased tickets for all Ugandans willing to watch the match as a token of appreciation for the support they exhibited through most of the matches played in the country.
The CHAN defending Champions walked away with the Bronze Award.
