KAMPALA– As all Africans getting prepared to watch the CHAN Tournament Finals at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Ugandans especially those who have not been having a chance to watch games in this tournament, to watch a free match at Mandela National Stadium popularly known as Namboole.
According to Mr. Dennis Mugimba, the Chairperson of Communications and Signage CHAN organizing subcommittee, noted that since this tournament has been co- hosted by three countries, Tanzania hosted the opening match, Kenya will be hosting the finals and Uganda will be hosting the match which will be determining the third team of the tournament.
“In recognition of the exemplary participation by football fans who have been participating in the CHAN-2024 tournament during our historic co-hosting as a country, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chaired by Janet Museveni is purchasing up to 28,000 Match Day tickets from CAF to offer our fans for the 3rd/4th Place Playoff match at Namboole.” Mugimba revealed to Journalists during a press briefing in Kampala, on Thursday 28th August 2025
He pointed out that, as soon as the CAF ticket portal was opened on Thursday afternoon, fewer than twenty tickets were immediately bought by paying customers before the site was re-configured to avail only NOT FOR SALE tickets.
Procedure
All tickets shall be branded NOT FOR SALE and still retain all the security features of an authentic Match Day ticket for CHAN-2024 from CAF.
All tickets purchased by the LOC for tomorrow’s Match can only be accessed through CAF’s official website for purchase of tickets for CHAN- 2024 as has been the case.
Upon accessing the portal to get yourself a ticket, fill in all the necessary details such as your names, phone contact, and email as applicable.
When it comes to payment, DO NOT make any payment. Instead, use the Promo Code option.
Type in the Promo Code CHAN 3RD (in capital letters), then proceed to complete the transaction. The Promo Code is shown in the figure below.
