The Jinja High Court on Tuesday, held a Regional Chain-Linked Coordination (RCC) meeting chaired by the Resident Judge, Lady Justice Joanita Bushara, to deliberate on best practices and strategies for enhancing justice delivery across the region.

In her opening remarks, Lady Justice Bushara underscored the need for greater coordination, cooperation, and communication among justice sector stakeholders. She noted that such synergy is vital to improving efficiency and public trust in the administration of justice.
The meeting drew together a wide range of actors in the justice chain, including judicial officers, representatives from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions
Uganda Police Force, Uganda Prisons Service, Uganda Law Society, Uganda Human Rights Commission, Justice Centres Uganda, and other partners.
Justice Bushara expressed gratitude to participants for their dedication and commitment, emphasizing the critical role played by regional heads in ensuring the integrity of the justice system. She further encouraged collective action, particularly in promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
As part of ongoing efforts, she revealed that the court has submitted a list of lawyers who recently completed virtual mediation training and are awaiting accreditation. Their involvement is
expected to boost ADR uptake. She also announced preparations for an upcoming Mediation Fortnight, during which several cases will be resolved through mediation.
During the meeting, Jinja Chief Magistrate HW Sheila Fiona Angura, also Chairperson of the District Chain-Linked Coordination Committee (DCC), presented key challenges faced by stakeholders and proposed recommendations, seeking the guidance and intervention of the Resident Judge.
The session, moderated by Deputy Registrar HW Robert Mukanza, concluded with the adoption of a set of resolutions aimed at addressing the highlighted challenges and strengthening justice delivery within the circuit.
