KAMPALA– In the recent NRM Central Executive Committee (NEC) elections which were held at Kololo Independence grounds on Wednesday, Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki a business man hailing from Bunyoro- Toro part ousted Hon. Chris Baryomunsi from the position of NRM Western Uganda Vice Chairperson.
Baryomunsi has held this position since 2020 after defeating Maj Gen Matayo Kyaligonza.
According to the results which were declared by Dr. Tanga Odoi, Eng Jonard garnered 4,044 votes representing 53.9 per cent of the total votes cast well as Baryomunsi his closest competitor gathered only 2,303 votes.
He as followed by Blaise Kamugisha with 339 votes, Enoch Byaruhanga Barigye had 60 votes, Lauben Bwengye Muhangi garnered 55 votes.
Well as Dick Kamuganga Nuwamanya secured 49 votes, Innocent Atuhe got 11 votes, well as Michael Mawanda had no vote.
