Pastor Kajoba Elevated as new Seventh Day Adventist Church in Uganda
Kampala, Uganda — The East-Central Africa Division (ECD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has announced the election of a new leadership team for the Uganda Union Mission.
According to the statement released by the Communication Department of Uganda Union Mission Seventh day Adventist Church, Pastor Samuel Kajoba has been elected as the President of the Uganda Union Mission (UUM), taking over from Pastor Dr. Maka Moses Ndimukika, who recently assumed the role of Executive Secretary of the East-Central Africa Division (ECD)
Kajoba, comes with a wealth of experience in pastoral ministry,
education, and church administration, having served faithfully as the Director for Central Uganda for some years before this appointment.
Pastor Kajoba will serve as head of the Adventist Church in Uganda for the next five years, providing spiritual and administrative leadership to thousands of members across the country.
“Joining him in leadership is Pastor Nicholas Bitamazire, who has been
elected as Executive Secretary of the Union. Pastor Bitamazire is a
seasoned minister and administrator, known for his dedi cation to discipleship and pastoral care, and he brings a strong background in Church leadership and chaplaincy.”
On the other hand, the finance department will now be led by Elder Isaac Lyadda, who has
been elected as Treasurer of the Uganda Union Mission.
The election was conducted by the Nominating Committee chaired by Dr. Blasious Ruguri, the ECD President. Uganda was represented on the committee by two members: Pastor Edward Muwanga, President of the South-Western Uganda Field (SWUF), and Mrs. Esther Waiswa, the Youth Director at Uganda Union Mission.
“The new team assumes office effective immediately and will provide spiritual and administrative leadership to advance the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda.”
The East-Central Africa Division (ECD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church oversees church operations in 11 African countries — Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its mission is “to make disciples of all people, communicating the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angels’ Messages of Revelation 14:6–12.”
Pastor Kajoba’s leadership is expected to strengthen the Adventist Church’s presence in Uganda and continue the work of evangelism, education, and community development pioneered by his predecessors.
