MASAKA– Democratic Front (DF) Party President, Hon Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba has called upon Ugandans especially the youth to be careful while using social media platforms.

While addressing Farmers under Kitenga Piggery Association in Masaka district, Mpuuga noted that although many take social media for fun, their acts have a huge impact on their careers as well as lifestyle.
“I am a member of Board for various organizations, but wherever we receive a job application letter, with the help of our technical team, we first peruse on how you use your social media platforms. If we find out that you’re a person who always posts no sense, we don’t recommend you for any job.”
He also pointed out that however much you may have the experience and the qualifications, but without discipline, you lose it out.
“Even many girls will lose out on marriage, because if you’re a kind of girl whose nudes are all over various social media platforms, no body can take you serious for marriage.”
Mpuuga therefore called upon parents to always teach their children proper use of smart phones to avoid landing into problems which may include imprisonment.
Under the Computer Misuse Act, Many Tic tokers and other social media users have ended up in jail over offences related to abusing and spreading false information about prominent figures.
