LIRA– The Government Chief Whip, Denis Hamson Obua on Sunday, August 17, 2025, joined fellow leaders from Lango, including the Health Minister, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, for a productive engagement with H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the unresolved compensation of over 125,000 claimants from Lango Sub-region.

The engagement that also involved the Deputy Attorney General, Jackson Kafuuzi and the State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon Balaam Barugahara happened at Lira District at Lango College Grounds.
The people of Lango expressed to the President the cries of the communities over the unresolved livestock compensation. While justice was served in court, more than 125,000 verified claimants remain unpaid.
They recommended the full payment of all verified claimants, the establishment of phased and clear timelines, as well as ensuring transparency and accountability in the entire process to ensure no one is left behind.
Lango leaders also appreciated the President’s guidance that the region should select a small group of representatives with whom he can further discuss the matter of cattle compensation.
