Najjanankumbi-On 13th August 2025, the FDC held its 19th National Council meeting at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi. The meeting, chaired by the National Chairman Hon. Jack Sabiiti, discussed the party’s future direction and received a report from the Party Electoral Commission.

During the session, the National Council ratified and endorsed Rt. Hon. Nandala Mafabi as the official FDC Presidential candidate.
The Party also launched the Five-Pillar 2026 Campaign Manifesto and the official campaign portrait of the Presidential candidate, unveiled by the National Chairman.
The Council further approved the 2026 election budget and passed a motion authorising the National Executive Committee to appoint the FDC National Taskforce for the 2026 elections.
Three women leaders who were formerly with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) joined FDC, citing irregularities in the recent NRM primaries. They are: Ms. Kate Etit Okao – Kwania District , Dr. Anna Grace Lalam – Dokolo District and Ms. Precilline Lakota Oto – Omoro District
They were welcomed by the Party President, Hon. Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi. “Their defection is a boost to FDC’s momentum as the party heads towards the 2026 elections.”
All this was done in preparation for the 2026 General Elections as well as to strengthen party structures.
