KAMPALA– Business man James Musinguzi Garuga, a co- founding member of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has passed away at Wednesday from Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.

According to close family members, Musinguzi has scumbed to cancer after battling with it for some time.
“We have received with deep sorrow the sad news of the passing of James Musinguzi Garuga, who died this morning at Nakasero Hospital. Dr. Garuga was not only a distinguished entrepreneur and community leader, but also a committed political actor whose contribution to Uganda’s democratic struggle, particularly in the formative years of the Reform Agenda and the birth of the FDC.” Reads part of Condolence message from FDC
The Party has also added that, during Musinguzi’s term as Secretary for Economic Affairs in the Reform Agenda, Garuga played a vital role in shaping the foundation of what would later become the FDC, offering both moral and financial support when few dared to do so.
“As a party and as a country, we have lost a man of rare courage, wisdom, and generosity. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.”
Various individuals, Organizations have started sending in condolence message to Garuga’s family, as they await a detailed burial program.
Musinguzi has been a prominent business man who has invested a lot in the education sector, hospitality and health care system.
