The duo appeared before the Nakawa court grade one magistrate Daphine Ayebare where the state attorney Richard Birivumbuka revealed that inquiries are in advanced stage, and hence asked for more time to finalize.

The magistrate further remanded the two to Luzira prisons until 14th of this month for mention of the case.

Agasirwe and Minana were arrested in May after one Daniel Kisekka told court that the deal to murder Kagezi was financed by one Nixon Agasirwe.

Kisekka was also in May 2025 sentenced to 35 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to having participated in the murder of Kagezi who was shot dead on the 30th March 2015 in Kiwatule a city suburb.

He revealed to court that the deal to murder Kagezi was introduced to him by one of the suspects Kibuuka John and was paid 500,000 shillings out of over 700 million shillings he had been promised to be paid.

He also told court that after the assassination execution, they rushed to a witch doctor in Kayunga who performed rituals on them so that they are protected from identification.

The three other suspects who are still on remand are; Kibuuka John, Nasur Abdullah Mugonole and John Masajjage.
