MBUYA– Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has announced the shortlist of aspiring candidates for the 2025 general recruitment exercise. The list is available on the UPDF website, and at the District or Municipal headquarters.

According to Major General Felix M. Kulayigye, Director of Defence Public Information, the physical recruitment exercise will begin on August 5, 2025, and end on August 15, 2025, at different recruitment centers. Shortlisted candidates are required to report with three passport photographs, an application letter signed by LC 1, DISO, and GISO, and their original academic documents.
The UPDF has warned candidates against submitting forged documents, which will lead to prosecution. Only shortlisted candidates should appear at the recruitment centers, and the recruitment process is free of charge. Successful candidates will report to the Kaweweta Basic Military Training School in Ngoma-Nakaseke District within three days of recruitment.
