KAMPALA – Engineer Jonard Asiimwe, one of the contenders for Vice Chairperson, Western Region on National Resistance Movement (NRM), Central Executive Committee (CEC), has vowed to use his expertise in the engineering sector, to create more employment for Ugandans especially youth in the Information communication sector.

While launching his Manifesto in Kampala on Wednesday , Jonard emphasized that he doesn’t need to join CEC as a form of employment, but he wants to use that platform to engage more policy makers and other stakeholders in the country.
“Me as Jonard , before contesting,
I have been a leader in Universities where I have been without competing, I have been chairman of different bodies on merit, I have been a government sponsored student on merit, I have been chairman NRM Hoima City on merit.”

He noted that while elected at CEC, he is going to work together with other party top leaders in ensuring that they bring to an end the vice of commercialized politics which has eaten up the party at various leadership levels.
“Our vision has not been built on the Politics of propaganda and buying people, but on a number of core value.”
Lokwil Paul, the representative at worker’s League , noted that Jonard, has done a lot in creating more employment to the young people something that can not be overruled in favor of some body who can’t talk about what he has achieved in the past years of NRM Government.
“Engineer Jonard has worked on a number of projects in Karamoja which are providing employment to the people and there is hope that once elected to the CEC, these numbers will increase.”
Mwijuka Jesca , Worker’s Councilor, Mbarara City ,pointed out that Asiimwe’s work speaks for its self , his coming to contest for the CEC Vice Chairperson seat is not about getting titles , but serving the people.
“Most CEC members have been lacking love, Jonard is a very good person who picks up people’s calls at all times without giving an excuse, secondly many of the members, after elections have been staying in the CEC without returning (reporting) back to the people who elected them there.” Remarked Magalo John Chairman finance committee Rakai District and a member of NRM CEC
At this event, many other CEC members endorsed Asiimwe to take up the position of Vice Chairperson, NRM for Western Region.
