KYADONDO, KAMPALA– Following the recently concluded NRM Party Primary Elections for Parliamentary Flag Bearers, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ( the party Chairman) , instituted a Tribunal, to receive, hear, and resolve petitions arising from the electoral process.

It’s mandate is to ensure that all grievances are addressed fairly, expeditiously, and in strict adherence to the NRM Constitution, the NRM Election Regulations 2025, and the applicable national laws.
On addressing journalists at NRM headquarters on Friday, John Muslim , the NRM Tribunal Chairperson, revealed that they have so far received 381 complaints and are expected to commence hearing on Tuesday, 29 July 2025 at 9:00 am.
“In accordance with the Guidelines on the Filing and Handling of Election Petitions (2025)issued by the Director of Legal Services, each petitioner is required to serve a copy of their petition on the respondent. In addition to this, the Tribunal is taking proactive steps to notify respondents through mainstream media, electronic communication, and direct telephone calls using the contact details provided at nomination.” Remarked John Muslim Chairperson NRM Tribunal
He also pointed out that the cases registered revolve around; Allegations of vote rigging, Multiple voting, Violence and obstruction of polling agents, Participation of ineligible candidates, Procedural irregularities during voting and tallying structure of the Tribunal and Commencement of Hearings.
“Each party will be permitted a maximum of five persons, including legal counsel.However a party is free to file the written evidence of as many witnesses as they wish.”
Muslim further called upon all Parties, only to report on the venue during their designated session and always remain respectful to the Tribunal’s processes, and most importantly, uphold the unity and cohesion of their great Party.
