Katwe Police station on the evening of 21st July 2025, has granted Police Bond to Kampala Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Shamim Malende who was arrested immediately after her return to Uganda.
Malende was arrested as she was in a procession with her supporters who were leading her to the Party they had organized for her.
She was charged with being a nuisance on the road.
As one of the conditions for her release, she was ordered to return back on Tuesday 22nd July 2025 and appear before the O/C CID Katwe Police station.
She has presented Makindye Ssabagabo Member of Parliament Hon. David Sserukenya and Kyazike Eva.
Malende has spent some months while in Agha Khan hospital where she has been receiving treatment for a while.
