A few hours after being declared a winner of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag for Rubanda East Parliamentary seat, Hon. Henry Musasizi Aliganyira, the state Minister for finance has welcomed the results.
“I write to you with a heart full of gratitude and deep appreciation for the trust and confidence you have placed in me during the recent NRM primaries. Your overwhelming support has granted me the honor of becoming the NRM flag bearer for Rubanda East in the upcoming general elections and for that, I am truly humbled.” Remarked Musasizi
He pointed out that , the victory is not his alone, but It is a reflection of the shared aspirations, unity, and collective commitment to the development and transformation of our constituency.
“Thank you for standing with me, for believing in my vision, and for participating actively the democratic process. As we now shift our focus toward the general elections, I encourage each and every one of you to continue that same spirit of participation and civic responsibility.”
He added that voting is not just a right, it is the people’s voice, power, and path towards shaping the future of Rubanda East.
“Let us turn out in even greater numbers, encourage our neighbors to do the same, and demonstrate the strength and unity in our community.”
In the Party Primary elections, Musasizi emerged the winner after garnering 22,538 votes (54.4%), followed by Joogo Kenneth Biryabarema with 18,838 votes (45.48%) votes out of the 41,420 total votes cast.
The race had four contestants.
